Fuel contracts, electrical upgrades, fabrication and landscaping are all on the agenda for Defence.

And there are many opportunities in Queensland.

Generally, to fuel first where the Royal Australian Navy has made a request for tender for the provision of Defence’s national requirement for Naval Aviation Fuel (F-44) Supply and Service.

The Fuel Services Branch is approaching the market via release of this open tender to provide an assured and resilient bulk Naval Aviation Fuel supply chain to meet capability requirements for a period of up to four years commencing 16 February 2018.

Closing date is 11 August. Click  here  for further details.

Now to Brisbane where there are electrical remediation works planned for Gallipoli Barracks.

The scope of works of this project involves a significant amount of the electrical infrastructure at the Enoggera Barracks facility where the electrical infrastructure is described as ‘ageing and outdated’.

In particular, there are a number of substations containing oil-filled or air-insulated HV switchgear which has exceeded its design life.

This one also closes 11 August. Click here  for detail.

Now, one for the fabricators. Not you’re everyday tender mind-you,

The Australian Nuclear Science and Technology organisation is looking for tenders to produce lead shielding culverts for biological shielding of gamma radiation in a neutron research facility.

This closes 14 August. Click here for details.

Defence has also issued a tender for sustainability works on its Paluma Lease.

Paluma is located in the ranges north of Townsville.

There are four tasks, including the improvement of the existing vehicle tracks, the installation of barricades to prevent public access to the Defence training areas, the installation of a gravel car park to allow controlled access to a specified area within the national park as well as signage and the supply and installation of a framed gate.

Closing date for tender submissions is 16 August. Details are here.

Still with Defence and still in north Queensland, this time about 300kms up the Bruce highway where tenders are called for the refurbishment of the HMAS Cairns fitness centre, wardroom and mess.

Closing date is also 16 August. Details are here.
