LDI Construction has won the civil and foundation works contract for the $550 million Nova City project in the Cairns CBD.

World Class Global says construction will begin next month on a 17-storey, 187-apartment tower known as Nova Light – the first of seven planned towers in the development.

Artists’ impressions of the $550 million project show a glass cladded facade incorporating seven towers and public spaces connecting retail, dining, residential and commercial elements.

World Class Global sales director Zak Thaker said the construction schedule would begin next month with a five-month foundation (piling) works program transforming the 24,000-sq m development site.

“For investors in Nova City and for the community in general, this is exciting news representing a giant step towards Nova Light’s completion currently on schedule for mid-2020,” he said.
