Mount Fox wind farm proposal open for comment
Mount Fox Energy Park is a joint venture between Zephyr Energy Developments and local landowners Brett and Eric Lollo.
Construction of the wind farm is expected to create about 180 jobs over a 24-month build period.
Public comment is being invited on the project as part of its assessment under the Federal Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act.
The proponents have indicated plans for 57 utility scale wind turbines to feed renewable electricity into the grid though a 275 kV Powerlink-owned transmission line that intersects the project site.
The Mount Fox wind farm would be constructed over two stages, with the first seeing the installation of two meteorological masts (120m to 140m tall) to measure wind, temperature and pressure at the project site.
Stage 2 involves the installation and operation of 57 utility-scale wind turbines and associated infrastructure. The
turbines are to be located on the higher ridgelines within the project site and comprise towers with a hub height of up to 137.5m (give or take 10m) above ground level. (View the referral document HERE)
