Conveyor contract awarded as Aquila advances
The new contract will see Fenner Dunlop ACE undertake the complete design, supply and installation of the ACV002 overland conveyor.
Works will include the overland structure, belting, electrics and an elevated stacker to load coal onto the site stockpile.
“After delivery of the initial underground development works, we are very excited to be working on this project,” ACE Queensland regional manager Brendon Harris said
“We believe we have created a culture of delivering on our promises. Completing the design, supply and installation give us a great opportunity to ensure effective conveyor operation for our client.”
The company said several conveyor components including mechanical supply, electrical supply and belting, will be manufactured in Australia.
The overland conveyor project is expected to be commissioned in the second half half of 2021.
The Aquila longwall project will extend the life of Anglo American’s existing Capcoal underground operations.
Development work at the site commenced in September 2019, and first longwall production is planned for early 2022.
Mackay-based Mastermyne Group has a $95 million development and outbye services contract for the project.
