Commissioning advances at Mount Carbine
Specialty Metals said they had successfully completed the commissioning of the water circuit on the new and refurbished plant at the Far North Queensland tungsten project.
“I am very pleased with the hard work that the team has put in on site daily to achieve our goals and make up some previously lost time,” Specialty Metals executive chairman Russell Krause said.
“The project timeline is once again in a strong position with material commissioning imminent. This progress is positive for the project and shareholders alike.”
Mr Krause said the team on site had completed the installation of a new piping circuit on the existing concentrate plant, which had been refurbished and refitted with new equipment.
Water has been put through the system and it was declared commissioned by the plant engineers.
The Speciality Metals International-Cronimet joint venture plans to retreat low-grade material stockpiled at the site before it commences hard rock mining.
