Castillo Copper has brought two specialist consultancies onboard to help accelerate the development of the copper discovery at Big One deposit in North West Queensland.

It comes after the company last month released what it described as ‘game changing’ assay results from the deposit, which is part of Castillo’s Mount Oxide project, located 150km north of Mount Isa near the old Mount Oxide copper mine. (More HERE)

ROM Resources has been appointed to utilise legacy and current data to progress modelling up an inaugural JORC compliant inferred resource.

GeoDiscovery Group has been tasked with undertaking an extensive geophysical survey with two core goals:

* Potentially extend known mineralisation through identifying massive sulphide bedrock conductors along the 1200m strike extent at Big One; and

* Deliver fresh geophysical insights into several known yet under-explored nearby anomalies, particularly previously mapped gossanous outcrops located north-east of the recent drilling.

Castillo Copper managing director Simon Paull said the Board was increasingly optimistic Big One deposit could be developed based on evidence to date.

“As a reflection of our optimism, we are now moving aggressively to extend known mineralisation, identify new targets and prove up an inaugural resource,” he said.

Castillo’s geology team is working on a holistic update of Big One deposit results, which is slated to be released soon.
