Great Northern Minerals is building a clearer picture of gold mineralisation at Camel Creek, with new assay results including 1m grading at 105.46 g/t gold.

The company has received the one-metre results from the recently completed RC reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at Camel Creek, which comprised a total of 15 holes for 3262m of drilling, with three of these being drilled as diamond hole precollars.

“We continue to be very encouraged by the results we are achieving at Camel Creek and are confirming this system that saw gold mined at surface continues at depth and along strike,”GNM managing director Cameron McLean said.

“We have learned a great deal about the extent of gold mineralisation particularly in the Hinge Zone.”

The result in one recent hole included 1m at 105.46 g/t gold from 127-128m, which GNM said could be directly correlated with the down dip intersection of another hole of 3 m at 23.84 g/t gold from 166-169m and further down dip again with 1m at 153.89g/t gold from 191-192m.

This very high grade structure has now been confirmed over 100m of vertical down dip continuity.

The company plans to start a diamond drilling program at Camel Creek by the end of this month, subject to finalisation and scheduling with the drilling contractor.

The follow-up program is aimed at producing some HQ3 diamond core to validate and test further strike and depth extensions.

This information will allow the completion of an initial resource estimate for Camel Creek, which lies about 200km west of Townsville.
