Bumper quarter for copper at Thalanga operation
Mine production and mill throughput improved significantly in the quarter ending March 31, resulting in increased quarterly production of zinc and lead concentrates as well as a bumper copper concentrate output.
Mining activities ceased at the West 45 underground mine in March, with all ore now coming from the Far West mine.
The operation processed 84,000 tonnes of ore last quarter to produce:
* Zinc concentrate – 4310 tonnes (Q2 FY20: 3781 tonnes)
* Lead concentrate – 1117 tonnes (Q2 FY20: 876 tonnes)
* Record copper concentrate production of 2310 tonnes (Q2 FY20: 1560 tonnes).
Red River Resources is fast-tracking development of the Liontown gold project as its next mine at the Thalanga complex after ‘outstanding’ exploration results in 2019.
