Northern Stevedoring Services, regional Queensland’s largest stevedoring company S. Colborne, a successful equipment hire company in Townsville and Mackay.

Having been one of S. Colborne Equipment Hire’s largest clients, Northern Stevedoring Services (NSS) saw the acquisition as the perfect fit for the company’s expansion plans and ability to control all processes to do with their stevedoring business.

“S. Colborne Equipment Hire has been working with NSS for the past 10 years and we see the acquisition as being instrumental in providing a quality end-to-end stevedoring service to our clients,” said Todd Emmert, General Manager of NSS.

The business which will now be run by long-term NSS employee David Price is strategically part of NSS growth plans in managing the process for clients from stevedoring right through to warehousing and delivery.

“By having total ownership of our mobile equipment fleet, the acquisition has the potential to help NSS realise savings, reduce down time and increase productivity,” confirmed Mr Emmert.

“Our intention is to diversify the hire business into off-wharf opportunities.”
