E-mail Print PDF
The Port of Gladstone anticipates the arrival of a new Liebherr Mobile Harbour Crane (LHM 550 Litronic) purchased by NSS; with delivery expected in late 2011. This latest addition to the NSS portfolio of stevedoring equipment, which facilitates container handling and heavy lifting, has been acquired in response to the expected growth in the region.
NSS, regional Queensland’s largest stevedore, has shown its commitment to Gladstone in making this strategic investment decision.  The new LHM 550 Litronic capable of lifting 150 tonnes has been acquired to ensure reliability for this regional port.

This large crane, specified for large project cargo, is fitted with a twin lift container spreader to ensure rapid vessel turnaround for containerised vessels.  The crane is also equipped for swift turnaround for bulk vessels, fitted with a 18 cbm grab.

The LHM 550 Litronic will couple with NSS' 3.3ha QAP1.1 port terminal, professional, experienced workforce and streamlined local road transport to provide integrated stevedoring, storage, transport and logistics services in Gladstone.

NSS is the largest stevedoring company headquartered in regional Queensland, with a strong commitment to the region and the local economy through providing advanced supply chain solutions and supporting local employment.  NSS is an equal opportunity employer, with our Gladstone workforce benefiting from a recent campaign encouraging women to enter the area of stevedoring.
